Here, I will give a quick overview of all of the new levels in SOCOM II. All of the levels from SOCOM I have been carried over, but I will not discuss them.
Foxhunt- Foxhunt is a escort mission, where the SEALs attempt to move the hostages to the extraaction zone, or defend the hostages for over 6 minutes. The terrorists goal is to eliminate all of the hostages or eliminate all of the SEALs.
The Mixer- The Mixer is another escort map. The objectives are very similar to Foxhunt where the terrorists attempt to prevent the SEALs from moving the hostages to the extraction or try to eliminate all of the SEALs.
Sujo- Sujo is a breach map based on the mission Urban Sweep. The SEALs attempt to plant a satchel at the Terrorist's base, which can be defended with mines, rail guns, and many other means.
Shadow Falls- Shadow Falls is a extremely dark supression map. The game ends in a draw unless one team is completly eliminated before time runs out.
Enowapi- Enowapi is a breach map. The SEALs can enter via 3 different breach doors. All doors have to be blown down with C4. The terrorists have rail guns, grenade launchers, and the darkness of the bomb room at there disposal. This is a very tough map for both sides.
Crossroads- Crossroads is a demolition map. The bomb is in the center of the map. Each side has a equal chance of getting the bomb at the start. Typically, the side that gets the bomb first wins the round.
Sandstorm- Sandstorm is a breach map. The 3 breaches are referred as cliffs, central, and left on this map. Terrorists once again have many weapons at their disposal. These include mounted grenade launchers, railguns with thermal scopes, and rpg-7s.
Requiem- Requiem is a demolition map that is very similar to Crossroads. The main difference is that its in a snowy enviroment which provides less visibility.
Guidance- Guidance is a escort map where the SEALs must escort the hostages to the extraction zone, or prevent the hostages from being killed. The terrorists spawn on top of a mountain on this map, which gives them a height advantage immediatly. Although it is easy to flank the mountain, most SEAL teams stay back in protect the hostages. A great map with many different ways of winning for both sides.
Chain Reaction- A supression map that is set in a submarine hangar. There are many sniping spots and if used correctly, one side can win the the round in under 1 minute. The SEALs start on top of the building and can mine the doors with claymores.
There are 5 levels of difficulty on the mission aspect of SOCOM II. These difficulties are Ensign, Lieutenant, Commander, Captain, and Admiral. As mentioned, completing the game on any difficulty higher will unlock different extras in your game. These extras can be skins for online play, SOCOM II music, and even grenade launchers for your disposal during missions.
